The mental health advocacy program "Speak Your Mind" engages and educates LGBTQ young community members about the importance of mental health in the Latino community. The program encourages community members to become agents of empowerment and advocates of mental health to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
As part of the "Speak Your Mind" campaign, The Wall Las Memorias Project has established The Leadership Circle to further advocate for mental health services in the Latino and LGBTQ community. The group is comprised of LGBTQ young adults and allies (ages 18-26) from across Los Angeles that come together on a monthly basis to discuss and share their own experiences with accessing mental health services in their communities. Guided by our team, the young leaders are trained in advocacy skills, public policy, and community engagement.
