MEN’S HEALTH
The Wall Las Memorias (TWLM) has been serving gay, bisexual and questioning men since its inception in 1993. Our innovative programs and services integrate culture, spirituality, and social justice to address various health issues affecting our men-who-have-sex-with-men (MSM) population.
The health and social issues that affect this community are complex. TWLM understands that in order to combat high rates of HIV, we need to not only provide HIV testing but also offer community a more holistic approach that addresses the underlying causes of these disparities. Our grassroots approach provides ample support and mentorship for vulnerable populations need in order to generate self-awareness and ownership of health needs.
AVAILABLE SERVICES
>> HIV Testing & Counseling - TWLM continues to provide HIV prevention services to gay, bisexual, and questioning men-who-have-sex-with-men under our culturally competent HIV testing and counseling services. HIV testing is conducted by peer community health specialists and are free of cost for all members of the community at both of our DTLA and Boyle Heights office locations.
>> Men's Connection - A program designed to empower Latino gay, bisexual, and queer men and promote healthy living through HIV prevention, substance abuse prevention, and mental health sigma reduction.
>> Men’s Talk - Our peer-led community support group provides space for men who identify as gay, bisexual, queer, or questioning for the purpose of building brotherhood, creating change, and nourishing leadership. Men's Talk meets virtually every Tuesday from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. Click here to register.
>> Young Advocates for Action and Sustainability (YAAS) - This program was designed to promote health, wellness, and leadership among young gay, bisexual, and queer Latino and African-American men ages 15-29.
>> Conecta2 - Un espacio para hombres GBTQ+ donde tendrás la oportunidad de aprender, compartir, recibir apoyo y divertirte en un lugar seguro y confidencial. Conecta2 se reúne todos los lunes a las 7 PM en persona en el Boyle Heights HUB de TWLM. Haga clic aquí para registrar.
>> POZ Group - A safe place where people living with HIV can share their experiences, find community and access valuable resources to continue living health and balanced lives. The POZ Group meets virtually every Wednesday from 7:30 - 9:00 PM. Click here to register.
>> Get to Zero LA - Our newest effort and vision for zero new HIV infections in LA County! Achieving this goal begins with making it easy for people to access testing, diagnosis, and treatment. FREE HIV TESTING
TWLM offers free HIV testing by appointment or by walk-ins Mondays thru Fridays from 9am - 5pm. To make your appointment with one of our friendly HIV testing counselors click on "Schedule An HIV Test" above or email [email protected] for an at-home HIV testing kit (delivered free of charge).
