Who We Are
The Wall Las Memorias National AIDS Monument & Wellness Centers
The Wall Las Memorias National AIDS Monument stands at the heart of the organization, serving as a powerful symbol of remembrance, resilience, and the ongoing fight for health equity. It grounds TWLM’s mission in community, honoring those we have lost while inspiring the work we advance across our four pillars.
The Four Pillars
HIV Prevention & PrEP Services
The Wall Las Memorias (TWLM) provides Free Rapid HIV Testing at all three Los Angeles office locations, as well as Free At-Home HIV Testing Kits delivered right to your door. We also offer men's support groups that empower participants to make healthy life choices while actively reducing stigma surrounding HIV and mental health.
TWLM’s dedicated HIV Testing Coordinators are here to support clients every step of the way, including connecting you to PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) services through their trusted telehealth partner, Freddie.
Substance Use Prevention
TWLM is a recognized leader in substance use prevention, education, and awareness.
In response to the growing methamphetamine crisis in Los Angeles County, we launched the Act Now Against Meth campaign in 2020 to spark urgent action and community engagement.
The program provides prevention, education and harm -reduction practices with a focus on alcohol, cannabis, meth. and opioids.
Our commitment continued into 2025 with the United for Solutions: Conference on the Opioids & Meth Crisis, which brought together more than 400 professionals from across Los Angeles to collaborate, learn, and develop strategies for meaningful, measurable change.
Today, we offer a comprehensive, community-centered approach to substance use, working directly with community members to increase awareness of substance-related risks, promote safer behaviors, reduce stigma, and connect clients to supportive resources. Through workshops, outreach campaigns, and partnerships with public health agencies, we address substance use as a public health issue—rooted in compassion, prevention, and full access to care.
Mental Health Prevention
Recognizing a growing need for support and guidance among gay and bisexual men, especially during times when many felt isolated, TWLM stepped in to build community and provide hope.
They began by hosting support groups designed to promote connection, healing, and empowerment. Today, those efforts have expanded into a variety of specialized support groups tailored to different age groups, identities, and communities within the LGBTQ+ community.
Looking ahead, TWLM is expanding its commitment to mental health by developing in-house clinical services, with the goal of offering professional treatment and care through their very own licensed mental health clinicians.
Education and Advocacy
The Wall Las Memorias is known for its advocacy and community mobilization campaigns. From monitoring the over-licensing of alcohol establishments to fighting against discrimination in the workplace, the organization believes that social justice begins with finding your voice and speaking out against the injustices that impact community health and wellbeing.
