“Status Is Everything,” is the program tagline used by LA LIST – Latino and Asian Leaders Inspiring Social Transformation.

LA LIST is a proven community level intervention program with a focus on normalizing and advocating HIV testing.

People often cite fear and stigma as reasons for not getting tested for HIV. The group was created to combat these elements by enlisting the help of influential and respected community members.

It is used to promote the idea that knowledge is everything—that knowing your HIV status is crucial to a person’s on going health.

Participants are recruited from across the community and trained on how to have effective conversations with friends about the importance of knowing their HIV status, essentially promoting the idea of friends influencing friends.
