NON-BINARY HEALTH

The non-binary and gender non-conforming community is one that has been historically excluded from cultural narratives. And while society has improved its understanding and education about what being non-binary means, there is still a lack of health knowledge about this community and few resources for their needs.

The Wall Las Memorias (TWLM) established its Enby Entities in 2018 as the first support group of its kind in L.A. County that caters to non-binary, gender non-conforming, and questioning individuals. The peer-led support group meets every Thursday, and has welcomed more than 50 community members since its inception. Past topics for discussion have included gender identity, mental health, substance abuse, social justice, advocacy and community building. Aside from the great conversation and educational presentations, Enby Entities provides participants with referrals to outside resources such as counseling and access to PrEP and PEP.

 

AVAILABLE SERVICES

>> HIV Testing & Counseling - TWLM continues to provide HIV prevention services to non-binary, gender non-conforming and questioning individuals under our culturally competent HIV testing and counseling services. HIV testing is conducted by peer community health specialists and are free of cost for all members of the community at both of our DTLA and Boyle Heights office locations.

>> Enby Entities Support Group - Our peer-led community support group provides space for individuals who identify as non-binary, gender non-conforming, and questioning for the purpose of building community, creating change, and nourishing leadership. Enby Entities meetings are currently on hiatus. FREE HIV TESTING
